Menopause is the common phenomenon among females that happens at a particular age. Usually women experience menopause in their late forties and first signs of it are weight gain, mood swings, and the occasional hot flash. These symptoms are bad and affect women health a lot. A study was carried out to know the risk factors of hormone replacement therapy hrt. The Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) who studied two groups having more than 16,600, and 10,700 participants each respectively conducted this study. The researchers surveyed over a million women in the UK over 50 years old who were attending breast screening clinics. The studies found the following risks associated with hormone replacement therapy that are as under. 

5 Major Risks about Hormone Replacement Therapy:

Breast Cancer:

HRT or hormone replacement therapy is associated with increased risk of breast cancer in women.

Heart Attack:

Women taking hormone replacement therapy are also more vulnerable to heart attack. 

High Blood Pressure:

The risk of High blood pressure is also associated with Hormone Replacement Therapy Treatment.

Stroke:

Strokes are more likely to occur in patients undergoing HRT.

Blood Clots:

Blood Clots were more common in women on HRT.

 If you are experiencing menopausal symptoms, consult the doctor and evaluate the risks and benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy for the treatment of menopause symptoms. If the benefits outweigh the risks, use this treatment otherwise make a healthy life style and perform exercise to balance hormone levels. If you take hormone replacement therapy, take low dose and short-term treatment for best results. Nutritional supplements also remain helpful in this regard.
